About the Experience

After capturing breathtaking photos of the falls, we head back toward Akureyri for our second stop: The Forest Lagoon. Nestled in a beautiful birch forest, this impressive geothermal spa offers stunning infinity pools overlooking the majestic Eyjafjörður Fjord and the town of Akureyri itself. Try the various warm lagoons, cold plunges, and saunas in serene surroundings, whiling away a couple of relaxing hours before your comfortable shuttle returns you to the port.
Itinerary Highlights
- Goðafoss Waterfall: Plunging approximately 12 meters (39 feet) over a width of 30 meters, this is one of Iceland’s most magnificent waterfalls. It carries a fascinating legend dating back to the year 1000, when lawspeaker Thorgeir Ljosvetningagodi threw his statues of Norse gods into the falls, symbolizing Iceland’s historical conversion to Christianity.
- Forest Lagoon (Skógarböðin): A premium geothermal spa built into a mountainside forest. Relax in the mineral-rich, naturally heated waters while enjoying panoramic views of the fjord and the surrounding mountains.
